article builds character "Inviting Tigers"

Authors: Al-Banna Shofwan Choiruzzad *

If the lights in your head suddenly turns on and bring new and exciting ideas for the betterment of your organization or your work place, the desire to immediately disclose to the chairman, boss, coworkers, or `men 'would immediately come right?

at least, it is that I often experienced. Want to really seemed to immediately convey interesting ideas that the people concerned.

When riding a motorcycle, in the train, eating, chatting casually with people, who are still waiting for the bus and left his driver ngetem play chess, or when all of a sudden waking up early in the morning, sometimes unique idea from nowhere. If that happens, usually I immediately noted the main points or even send sms or phone directly on the relevant colleagues.

Very often it happens like this:

Me: "Assalamu'alaikum father. Sorry to bother ya dawn. Related to our plans to ..."

Handpone Friend: "tu-tuuut-tuuut. The numbers that you want to go is off or out of reach. Please try again later."

Me: Hmmm (* look at * one who is calling at 2 am)

Apparently not only me who often suffer from `disease 'no-can-keep-away-soon-to-convey this idea. Many friends often told me that they experienced the same thing. A teacher of my life continues even discuss his new ideas for community empowerment while lying in hospital and awaiting surgery (until all those present visited excited: lest this last message is why so many messages).

But, of narrative and his colleagues reviewed several studies, most of us have this tendency: while conveying the idea, we choose to deliver it to people who we think have a great chance to support that idea. This of course only natural, because we need the approval and support. Who would want an interesting idea that thought bother suddenly shot away with the criticism that makes down?

Well this is the difference: how our attitude to those who would slaughter finished 99.99% of our ideas? Let us try to imagine if we had a few colleagues or co-worker organizations that have a character like this:

1. There were personal problems with us, so that whatever we submit must be rejected categorically mentah.2. Human skeptical that clear-cutting ideas anyone until lumat.3. Superiority complex, people who do not like there is someone more powerful from it. Any good ideas if not from himself would argue until the end.

If we want to invite a meeting to discuss our ideas or send us an email with the idea that, about those people we put on our invitation list or we cc the email is not ya? In general, the majority of people vote "no." Why invite trouble? Sometimes we even do it more extreme: not only ensure that the person is not invited, we try to ensure that the idea or the discussion meeting was not until the smell by that person.

The principle is simple: Do not let the tiger come. If they were to come, we will be swallowed.

Is it true audience for the delivery of electoral formula that idea?

Let's learn from the Prophet Muhammad SAW, one of the most successful conveyor of ideas in human history. Sometimes, we even HAVE to invite the Tigers to make our ideas a reality.

As a community that had just been born and had no military or technological advantage exceptional, send a letter of invitation to the countries that have stood firm and superpower might be considered suicide. Would not it be considered patronizing `action 'and` impudent'? Can-can the king and the Emperor was furious, and sent his troops who are mathematically impossible to be matched by the Muslim community who still grow it.

Approximately seven years after the hijrah, the Prophet gathered a few friends, asking some of them to engage in a mission to the logic of most of us sound like mission impossible. Community newly born and still build this sudden convey a message on the great powers around Arabia, including two world superpowers that fought continuously without stopping.

The narrator's history prophet noted that he sent envoys to Hiraklius (Byzantine ruler), Kisra (Persian ruler), Mauquqis (ruler of Egypt's Coptic), King Himyar, King of Yemen, King Najasy (Negus) Habasyah ruler (now Ethiopia), King ` Amman, King Yamamah and the King of Bahrain. Letters to the Hiraklius, submitted to Dihyah bin Khalifah al-Kalbiy. Letters to the Kisra handed over to Abdullah bin al-Sahmiy Hadzaqah. Letter to al-Najasy given to 'Amr ibn al-Dhamiriy Umayyads. Letter to be sent via Hathib Muqauqis bin Abi Balta'ah. Letter to the King of Amman given to 'Amr ibn al-Ash Sahmiy. Letter to King Yamamah provided to Salith bin 'Amr. Letter to the King of Bahrain provided to al-'Alla 'ibn al-Hadhramiy. Finally, a letter to al-Harith al-Ghassaani given to Syuja 'bin Wahab al-Makhzumiy.

The message given was clear and concise. Showing confidence sturdy and strong.

Let us read one sample letter:

"From Muhammad the messenger of Islam to the An-Najasyi, the ruler of Abyssinia (Ethiopia).

Peace be upon you.

Indeed I am thankful to God that there is no god except He, the King, the Most Holy, the Most Prosperous, principle of security, the All-Maintain, and I testify that Jesus son of Mary is the spirit of God created with His words conveyed- Mary, who elected him to, well and preserved. Then she got pregnant and then created the spirit of Jesus with his breath as Adam was created from the ground with his hands.

Actually I take you to the path of Allah. And I have to say and exhort you then please accept my advice.

And greetings to those who follow guidance. "

The answer of the letter was mixed. There are replying with such good Najasyi from Ethiopia. There are ready to welcome the invitation of the Prophet on the condition get a position like King Yamamah (The Prophet condemned because the invitation was pure greed and not for the glory of the world). There are not showing anything like the reaction Hiraklius (although he then alerted his troops). There is anger until it tore up the letter as Kisra Persian (but subordinate, the ruler of Yemen, it was joined with Muslims).

What is clear, the letter attracted the attention of the world. The majority of Arab people amazed by the courage and Muslims flocked to join. They began to think that the message of truth proclaimed by Muhammad SAW probably really something worth fighting for, because this small community was even willing to take risks to harass the Roman and Persian.

Inviting the tiger is often more beneficial than harmful. If we are sincere and feel confident that we are a good idea and worth striving for the betterment of the organization or company, why be afraid to be the target of criticism? Given any cruel criticism, there must be benefits that we can get. Moreover, criticized-especially by cruel and indiscriminate-it makes the idea we will be more audible.

In Buy In: Saving Your Good Ideas From Being Shot Down, John Kotter of Harvard Business School said that one trick convey ideas effectively is to open yourself to criticism. Do not omit the name of the people who we predicted would inhibit us from meeting invitation ideas or from a list of email recipients. "When your idea was shot by a lot of people ..," he writes, "you invite people to really pay attention to your ideas."

Still do not believe?

In an age full of information like this, every day all people get a variety of information through various media in every second. For example, many of us who have various social media accounts at once. There are also many among us who subscribe to various mailing-list, from which contains college friends until a fad. With the flood of information like that, we often only read at a glance or even directly pass various information that we Terawangan not important. Now, if we want our message noticed among millions of other information, how?

This is where the criticism (whether delivered fine and a blind) actually helps us get an idea of attention. Here's the trick. People tend to notice if an e-mail or the information discussed with the `hot '. Kritiklah that heats our ideas, make a fragrance and smoke that provoke people's curiosity.

Having succeeded in attracting attention, it's time to make critical use our ideas accepted. If we're able to capitalize on criticism well, the message will arrive. Conversely, if we actually swallowed by criticism, the idea we just went down. Often, when criticized, we would dissolve in a long debate and unproductive by the critics. Our emotions also hooked, so that eventually the idea we even vague and unclear. We spend time to exchange insults, put distance between us and him getting away. Unfortunately, it also will make the observer away from the idea that we offer.

Any shots arent nearly as violent criticism directed at our ideas, let's keep calm. Stay calm. Calm response to the criticism that blindly actually strengthens the impression that we are quite confident with our ideas. Not only that, tranquility in the face of criticism also build a mature and statesmanlike image in the minds of the observers of our personality, which in turn brings sympathy for the ideas that we offer. Conversely, critics increasingly indiscriminate make any sense semasuk criticism so do not pull it, wrap the culprit in a cloak of arrogance that makes all the people away. Do not take it personally. Our primary mission is to see our ideas are welcomed.

Last but not least, another important key is to remain open to learning from criticism. If we are sincere, we can actually take the ideas of these critics to make us more perfect idea.

Well, was not criticized it fun?
